Yesterday, I had great time guiding my 7 year old build his mBot.
We bought it at a homeschool convention. My kids spent hours playing the robot there. The materials were high quality, easy for young kids to build. He finished in less than an hour. Then, I installed the apps on both Android phone and iPad for him.
We will host a STEM event at local Chapel Hill Library. Time is a Saturday, I will announce soon.
Age: product lists 8-12 year old. My youngest 5 year old should be fine with adult help.
